This policy explains what the Bloodfang guild website (bloodfang-guild.com), the "Bloodfang" Discord application and bot (ID 1567338471943835658), the Bloodfang addon and the uploader for Windows and Mac collect, and how it's used. They're run by the Bloodfang guild.
In short: we collect only what the guild site needs, we don't show ads, we don't sell or share your data for marketing, we don't use tracking cookies, and the site sends no email.
What we collect#
- From Discord sign-in (OAuth scopes
identifyandguilds.members.read): your Discord user ID, username, display name and avatar, and your roles and nickname in the Bloodfang server. We don't get your email address or password. The bot also sees members joining, leaving and changing roles so site access stays in sync. It does not read message content. - Characters and raid data: character names, GUIDs, realm, class, race, level and professions you link; raid signups; attendance and boss kills; crafting recipes; and guild bank character contents, including the bank character's gold. We collect gold only for guild bank characters, and we don't collect gear, location or BattleTag. These come from addon export strings you or Officers paste, or from the optional uploader. Each export is signed with a per-character key.
- Things you write: applications (main character, class, role, availability, experience, an optional logs link and free text), inbox messages, contact form messages, tickets and screenshots (images re-encoded and metadata stripped), wiki edits, and crafting and bank requests.
- Settings: notification and Discord DM opt-ins, uploader tokens and your iCal link (stored hashed or as random secrets).
- Technical data: IP addresses and request logs, used for rate limits and security and kept 30 days, plus an audit log of admin actions. The addon and uploader are downloaded from GitHub, not from our site, so we don't record downloads; GitHub's privacy policy covers those downloads.
- Public game data: Warcraft Logs reports and rankings for the guild, and That's My BiS loot and attendance exports that Officers upload.
How we use it#
To run the guild site: control access by Discord role, show the roster, raids, loot, stats, races, bank, crafting and wiki, handle applications and tickets, send in-site notifications, send the Discord DMs you opted in to, and keep the service secure.
Who can see it#
- Members (Trial and up) see the roster, raid, loot, stats, bank and crafting pages, including character names and raid data.
- Officers, the Guild Master and the Webmaster see applications, contact messages to their inboxes and tickets, as their role allows.
- Applicants and members see their own applications and inbox.
- Service providers: OVHcloud hosts the server (Hillsboro, Oregon, USA). Cloudflare proxies traffic. GitHub hosts the public repository and releases for the addon and uploader (not your personal data). Discord carries sign-in and DMs. We read from Warcraft Logs. Data is stored in the United States.
We don't sell your data or share it with advertisers.
Cookies#
We use a sign-in session cookie and the security cookies needed for sign-in. Cloudflare may set its own security cookies. Item names and icons come from our own servers, not third-party tooltip scripts. There's no analytics or advertising tracking.
Discord messages#
The site sends Discord DMs only for the types you turn on (all off by default) and never posts to Discord channels. The Bloodfang guild may separately have Bloodfang (grok bot) post messages or images in the Bloodfang Discord; anything posted in Discord is also covered by Discord's own privacy policy.
How long we keep it#
- Inbox messages and notifications: 30 days by default (Guild Master and Webmaster can change this in settings). When you delete one of your own messages, its text is removed right away and others in the thread see "Message deleted"; the empty record is then removed with the rest at the end of the retention period.
- Applications and tickets: deleted after the retention period, except a short summary (who, what, the decision or outcome, and when).
- Raid records (attendance, kills, loot, races) are kept as guild history.
- Backups: OVH daily server backups plus nightly database dumps kept on the server (14 daily and 8 weekly). There's no off-site backup copy. Deleted data can stay in backups until they rotate out.
- If you leave the Discord server, you lose members-area access. Your characters stay on the roster until an Officer removes them.
Your choices and deletion#
You can unlink characters, delete your own messages, turn DMs and notifications on or off, and revoke uploader tokens and iCal links. To ask for a copy of your data or have it deleted, use the contact form (Site admin topic) or a ticket, or DM the Webmaster on Discord. The Guild Master or Webmaster can erase your messages, applications and character links. Attendance is kept as anonymized history.
Children#
The service is for people 13 and over (or Discord's minimum age where you live). If you think a younger child has used it, contact us and we'll delete their data.
Changes#
We'll update the effective date when this policy changes, and mention bigger changes in the site's notifications.
Contact and governing law#
Contact the Bloodfang guild through the contact form, a ticket or a Discord DM. This policy is governed by the laws of the State of Oregon, USA.
