These terms cover the Bloodfang guild website at bloodfang-guild.com (the "site"), the "Bloodfang" Discord application and bot (the "bot"), the Bloodfang World of Warcraft addon (the "addon") and the Bloodfang uploader for Windows and Mac (the "uploader"). Together these are the "service". The service is run by the Bloodfang guild. By signing in or using the service, you agree to these terms.
Not affiliated with Blizzard or Discord#
Bloodfang is a fan-run guild site. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Blizzard Entertainment or Discord. World of Warcraft and Discord are trademarks of their owners. You still have to follow Blizzard's and Discord's own terms.
Who can use it#
- You must be at least 13, or the minimum age to use Discord where you live if that is higher.
- The public pages (home, recruitment, apply, contact) are open to anyone. Sending an application or using the contact form requires signing in with Discord.
- The members area is only for members of the Bloodfang Discord server. Your access level comes from your roles in that server (Guild Master, Officer, Raid Lead, Guild Member, Trial). The site never changes your Discord roles. The one site-only role is the Webmaster.
- If you leave the Discord server, you lose access to the members area.
Your account#
You sign in with your Discord account. Keep it secure. Uploader tokens and calendar (iCal) links you create on the site are personal; don't share them. You can revoke them in your settings.
Acceptable use#
Don't:
- submit export strings, logs or data you know are false, or for characters that aren't yours (raid data is for Officers to submit);
- try to get around permissions, rate limits or the per-character signatures on export strings;
- harass other users, or send spam or illegal content through messages, applications, tickets, the wiki or crafting and bank requests;
- share members-only content, addon files or the uploader outside the guild;
- attack, overload or probe the service.
Officers, the Guild Master and the Webmaster can remove content, cancel requests, unlink characters or remove access to enforce these terms and the guild rules.
Your content#
You keep ownership of what you post (applications, messages, tickets, wiki edits, screenshots). You give the guild permission to store and show it inside the service for as long as the privacy policy's retention rules allow. Only post screenshots and text you have the right to share.
Addon and uploader#
- The Bloodfang addon is required for guild members. The uploader is optional.
- The addon and the uploader are free and open source. Their code and releases are public in one GitHub repository (bloodfang-guild-addon), so anyone can check what they do, and the MIT license in that repository applies. The members-only Addons page links to them.
- The addon records only guild-related game data (your characters, raid attendance, boss kills, recipes and bank-character contents). It records gold only for guild bank characters. It does not record gear, location or BattleTag.
- The uploader reads the addon's saved data on your PC, sends it to the site with your personal token, and sends raid data after each raid. When a newer addon is out, it asks you before updating it and never updates silently. It only works with files on your PC and never touches, reads or interacts with the running game. A new addon version takes effect on your next game start or /reload. The addon itself only tells you when guildmates have a newer version. It is optional: you can always paste export strings instead.
- Use addons at your own risk and in line with Blizzard's rules.
The bot#
The bot reads server membership and roles to control site access. It sends you Discord DMs only for the notification types you opt in to. The site doesn't post to Discord channels. Separately, the Bloodfang guild may have Bloodfang (grok bot) post messages or images in the Bloodfang Discord, and Discord's rules and the server rules apply to those posts.
Other services#
The service links to or imports from Warcraft Logs, That's My BiS, softres.it and Gargul. Those services have their own terms, and we aren't responsible for them.
Changes and availability#
The service is provided "as is", for free, with no guarantee of uptime or that data won't be lost. Features may change or end. We may update these terms; the effective date above will change, and continued use means you accept the new version.
Liability#
To the extent the law allows, the Bloodfang guild is not liable for indirect or consequential damages, lost data, or lost in-game items or progress from using the service.
Governing law#
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Oregon, USA.
